Welcome to the St. Aloysius Church Youth Office Site!

Hi! I'm Steven Brooksher

August 10, 2010
Thank you for encouraging your teens to be involved with the High School Youth Group!  Each year I become even more aware of the privilege it is to work with the young people of this parish.  It is a blessing to participate in this thriving ministry that contributes to the vitality and spiritual growth of the St. Aloysius community.   Over 210 teens participated in summer trips and other activities with St. Aloysius HSYG this summer—and each trip/event was INCREDIBLE.

A new school year has begun and our teens are EXCITED about and COMMITTED to the program.  With over 350 active teens in the Youth Group, we DEFINITELY need the help of parents and are blessed that you are willing to work with us in this ministry. The Life Teen Program offers many opportunities for parents to participate and we hope that you will answer the call to serve and, thus, become a role model to the youth.

To ensure the safety and protection of each child, volunteers serving in lead positions must be in compliance with the Diocesan Regulations for Working with Youth.  The procedures to qualify include completing an application (National Database), on-line training (Child Protection Certificate) and review and consent to the Code of Ethics.  We greatly appreciate the time you take to go through this process.  Please click here to get the form to fill out so that we may send you the packet of information. (Not required for parents who volunteer to participate on the Food Team or Environmental Team).

I ask that you consider making a $35.00 contribution to the HSYG to help off-set the cost of food and supplies for our Life Nights. (Note: PSR families do not send this contribution, as they have already paid a registration fee.)  This ministry’s success depends on all families to participate and get involved.  We ask that ALL parents commit to assisting in at LEAST one Life Night in the fall and one in the spring. Time commitment to serve food and to work on Environment is minimal. Even if your child has not decided to get involved yet, your involvement in the ministry is a great encouragement.

We have 19 meetings this year.  For each meeting we need 4-5 parents to help coordinate the environment decorations as well as parents who are willing to provide or serve food.  Neither commitment requires that you attend planning meetings. Please fill out the form below and return it to the office. I and the church community appreciate your continued support.

Yours in Christ,

Steven Brooksher, Jr.
Director of Youth Ministries
