St. Aloysius Parish Reaches Out:

TO INACTIVE CATHOLICS

REMEMBERING CHURCH: A program focused on reaching out to alienated and/or inactive Catholics who desire an update on the Catholic Church. These sessions assist individuals in their different journeys of return to the active participation in the faith life of the Catholic Church. Special attention is given to persons wishing to begin the process of annulment of a previous marriage.

TO THOSE SEEKING ANNULMENTS

ANNULMENT MINISTRY: Trained lay ministers as well as our parish priests will assist those wishing to explore or enter the annulment process. For further information, contact the Parish Office.

IN CRISIS OR TIME OF NEED

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: Part of being church is being available to one another in times of need. If you have special need, or know of someone who needs help, call our Aloysius St. Vincent de Paul Ministry at 381-9383 and leave a message. All requests are confidential.

PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING REFERRAL: St. Aloysius Parish offers counseling referral as well as financial assistance for counseling based on a sliding fee scale. This ministry is offered as a service through our parish’s Social Responsibility Commission. To discuss the possibility of using this service, contact a parish staff member. Confidentiality is maintained at all times throughout the process.

PRAYER LINE: Prayer intentions are accepted daily by telephone, 9 am to 5 pm, except weekends and holidays (check the bulletin for numbers). Or, you may send your request by email to staloysiusprayer@yahoo.com. A team of parishioners prays daily for all intentions sent in during the week.

RETROUVAILLE – FOR TROUBLED MARRIAGES: A diocesan program consisting of a weekend and six follow up sessions, Retrouvaille provides skills and support in addressing problems couples face. Brochures are available in the Parish Office and from the Office of Family Life at the Diocese.

IN SICKNESS AND IN DEATH

CARE OF THE SICK: Emergency calls immediately. The Eucharist is brought to the sick weekly and hospital visits are made weekly. Families of those who are sick are encouraged to notify the Parish Office. Anyone who is homebound and would like to receive communion, call John Veron at 343-6657, ext. 3044, or email him to have your name or name of a family member added to the communion call list.

VISITING NURSING HOMES/HOME BOUND: Families are encouraged to notify the Parish Office.

FUNERALS/BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY: Planning of a funeral may begin before death if a person and/or family requests it. At the time of a death, families should contact the church before arrangements are made with the funeral home. The family will generally be contacted by a bereavement minister, have food provided if needed, and will be invited to be involved in the planning of the Funeral rites. Families may arrange for visitation in the church on the day of the funeral. The Resurrection Choir and/or cantor and/or organist can provide music for the funeral.

GRIEF SUPPORT: The Grief Recovery Group meets the second Friday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the St. Aloysius Convent. All are welcome!

GOOD SAMARITANS: This ministry provides support to parishioners in a variety of ways based on the needs of the parish. These ministers provide meals for families in crisis due to illness, etc. In addition, the members help with transportation to doctor appointments. If you are in need of these services or you know someone who is in need, please contact Susannah DiNicola Babin or Kay Hoffpauir or call the Parish Office.
